The Holy Trifecta Potion: The Best Morning Wellness Shot for Immunity, Skin & Joint Health

Start your day off right with this simple and easy recipe that packs serious health and immunity boost! I was first inspired by the wellness shots from Trader Joe's but wanted to create my own version at home to reduce my plastic consumption, save money, and have access to this feel-good drink at all times of the day.

I call this drink the holy trifecta potion for its skin, immunity, and joint benefits. This delicious beverage is an easy and delicious way to pack your mornings with skin benefits to help skin feel and look its best, the immunity-boosting properties from the lemon and ginger are great for fighting off sickness as the weather starts to cool down, and finally, the collagen drops help strengthen bones and joints so you can continue moving and feeling your best all day long.

Let's dive into why this recipe is so good for your inner health (immune system, digestion, bones, & joints, etc.), and physical appearance (skin, hair, nails, collagen production, etc).

Coconut water is great for hydration, which is great for early in the morning when your body is dehydrated from not drinking water when you were sleeping. (You did sleep for 7-8 hours, right? Sleep is hugely important for maintaining optimal skin health) Coconut water is also considered a perfect beverage for restoring hydration and replenishing electrolytes because it contains electrolytes such as potassium, magnesium, sodium, and calcium.

Lemon juice is high in vitamin C, a primary antioxidant that helps protect cells from damaging free radicals. Drinking lemon water with meals may help increase your absorption of some minerals, including the minerals and chlorophyll in the Sakara Beauty Water + Detox Water Drops.

Ginger has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and is known to improve brain functions, heart health, and even lower blood sugar levels. It’s also used to treat a variety of digestive ailments and helps fight colds and the flu.

Cayenne Pepper not only packs a powerful hit of flavor but also boasts an extensive list of nutritional benefits thanks to its key active ingredient, capsaicin. Like ginger, cayenne is renowned for reducing inflammation and aiding various ailments as the capsaicin’s antioxidant properties include vitamin C, vitamin E, beta carotene, and more. Cayenne is widely used to help reduce hunger levels and boost metabolism, a recent study found that consuming cayenne pepper in a meal increased core body temperatures, which would, in turn, burn more calories. Whilst cayenne has its own nutritional benefits and a long list of vitamins and minerals, this hot spice works harmoniously with ginger to help this shot recipe pack a punch.

Liquid Chlorophyll drops are filled with an antioxidant-rich blend of chlorophyll (the pigment that makes plants green) which has been shown to enhance the liver’s ability to remove toxins and waste from the body. Chlorophyll water contains antioxidants that reap a variety of skin benefits like helping with free radical damage and fine lines and wrinkles.

There is still ongoing research but chlorophyll water may also enhance internal alkalinity, which can promote a healthier body and therefore, may help with inflammation, acne, weight, and sleep.

I like Sakara’s Detox Water Drops because of the convenience of their dropper, their minimal & chic branding, and the high-quality ingredients they source from. Keep in mind that these drops need to be refrigerated.

Ionic Mineral Drops Ionic minerals are trace amounts of minerals that your body needs to be replenished. Numerous trace minerals that are essential to human life don’t get replenished due to corrosion caused by aggressive farming techniques that have stripped the naturally occurring minerals found on the earth’s surface. Because your body requires nearly two-thirds of all the elements in order to maintain health, keeping these minerals in balance is a complex, yet incredibly vital task. So how do you get these trace minerals in your diet if they’re so difficult to get from the earth?

enter: ionic mineral drops.

These drops can be easily added to the liquid of your choosing to enhance your beverage to include the missing minerals that your body needs. Easy!

I like the Sakara Beauty Water Drops because they come in an easy-to-travel with dropper and provide 72 ionic trace minerals that give your body the support it needs to maintain a healthy pH balance, flush out toxins, and restore beautifying minerals that keep skin, hair, and nails resilient. Keep in mind that these drops need to be refrigerated.

BioSil Collagen Drops

The final cornerstone of this potion is showing our physical body and joints some love through collagen supplements. Biosil is a unique, high-quality vegan supplement that protects and replenishes your own collagen production. Biosil’s active ingredient, ch-OSA, increases collagen, keratin, and elastin levels in your body which may lead to fewer wrinkles, radiant skin, luscious hair, and strong nails.

Coconut Water, lemon, supplements
All the ingredients you'll need

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Coconut Water

  • 1/2 Lemon of Lemon Juice

  • 2-3 tsp Ginger (I use grated frozen ginger but you can use fresh)

  • 1 Dropper Sakara Beauty Water (Buy)

  • 1 Dropper Detox Water Drops (Buy)

  • (Buy Value Pack of Both Drops)

  • 6 Drops Biosil Collagen Drops (Buy)

Tools:

  • Air-Tight Pitcher (Buy) or Glass containers with lid (Buy)

  • Funnel (Buy Similar)

  • Measuring cup (Buy)

  • Citrus juice squeezer

How To Make Lemon Ginger Shots:

  1. Grate fresh ginger or pull frozen ginger out of the freezer and remove it from packaging. Set aside so it defrosts.

  2. Measure 1 Cup of Coconut Water using a measuring cup.

  3. Cut Lemon in half and juice half a lemon's worth of juice. Put the juice in a pitcher or similar container.

  4. Add cayenne pepper to taste. I like mine spicy and use 1-2 tsp. Start small, you can always add more.

  5. Shake or mix your container so ingredients are mixed.

  6. Store in the fridge until ready to drink (store up to 4-5 days)

Adding Supplements

You can drink this mixture multiple times a day, but I aim to drink 2 droppers of the Sakara Beauty + Detox Drops and 10 drops of BioSil a day. You can split the supplements in half, drinking 1 dropper of Beauty Water & Detox Water plus 5 drops of BioSil twice a day, or you can opt to mix and match. For example, Morning: 1 dropper of Beauty Water + 5 drops of BioSil, Afternoon: 1 dropper of Beauty Water and Detox Water, Night: 1 dropper of Detox water, and 5 drops of BioSil. It's all up to you!

  1. Pour 4 oz of the mixture into a cup.

  2. Add 1 Dropper of Sakara Beauty Drops, 1 Dropper Sakara Detox Water and 5-6 drops of BioSil.

  3. Mix with a spoon

  4. Drink twice a day and enjoy!

Since I started making and drinking my Holy Shot Trifecta wellness shot I have noticed great changes in my skin texture and complexion, and a reduction of my hair from falling out. My skin's elasticity also seems to have improved and appears more plump and firm. My body also seems to have fewer aches and pains and I feel much more hydrated than felt previously.

I hope this recipe inspires you to create your own batch of wellness shots at home to drink when you start your day, after your workout, or before going to bed.
