Root Down, Rise Up - Bound Warrior III Vinyasa Flow in Golden Gate Park
Looking to build balance, strength, and focus in your yoga practice? This 60-minute all-levels vinyasa flow was filmed live at Free Yoga at the Whale Tail in Golden Gate Park. Designed to help you cultivate stability and confidence, this class gradually builds toward Bound Warrior III, a challenging balancing posture that combines strength, flexibility, and concentration.
Throughout the practice, you'll move through grounding standing poses, heart-opening shapes, and side-body stretches that prepare the body for this powerful peak pose. Whether you're new to balance work or looking to deepen your practice, this flow offers accessible options and modifications for all levels.
Throughout the class, you’ll move through a strong and steady sequence that prepares the body for crow through mindful progressions. Whether you’re learning how to take flight for the first time or deepening your practice, this flow offers accessible entry points for every level: no props needed.
What to Expect in This Class
This energizing flow strengthens the legs, core, and shoulders while encouraging steady breath and mindful movement. You'll explore:
Gate Pose to open the side body and improve mobility
Modified Side Plank to build core and shoulder strength
Warrior I to establish grounding and stability
Humble Warrior to open the shoulders and lengthen the spine
Warrior II to strengthen the legs and cultivate focus
Extended Side Angle to create length and spaciousness through the body
Bound Warrior III to challenge balance, coordination, and concentration
As the sequence unfolds, you'll build the strength and awareness needed to move into Bound Warrior III with confidence and control.
Why Practice Bound Warrior III?
Bound Warrior III combines the strength and stability of Warrior III with a shoulder-opening bind, creating a posture that demands both physical and mental focus. This pose helps develop:
Balance and coordination
Leg and core strength
Shoulder mobility
Concentration and body awareness
The practice of balancing reminds us to stay present, adapt, and find steadiness even when things feel uncertain.
